A Love Story

Dear Humane Society family,
Jan. 2012

I wanted to send you this note and these pictures of my blue heeler - Captain Gunner (AKA) Pa Pa Bear, or as you probably remember, Cappy. I cannot begin to express in words the love and life tis dog has brought to our family. He is loving, protective, smart and sticks to his mom like Velcro.

He has been such a brave dog to adapt to losing his left front leg. He falls on his head a lot, but gets right back up again. I sometimes feel my heart ache for him - I know his other joints are taking a beating. He hops on that front leg. I have him on fish oil and all natural supplements and dog foods. This dog - I truly love and he is beautiful inside and out. My Pa Pa Bear is a "true blue."

I would have never wanted a blue heeler or had one if I had not seen the Warren Times Observer coverage on "Less Adoptable Pets." I know I will never be without one and I have your rescue efforts and your staff to thank from the bottom of my heart.

I will with no doubt rescue another 3-legged blue heeler. This dog has been given a second chance with is life and made a remarkable rebound in spite of his past. Everybody loves him! Even the cats -- haha!

Thank you -- what more can I say --

Kelly Patterson & Pa Pa Bear
